Well, after months of speculation, Apple finally announced that the iPad 2 is here. The follow-up to last year’s tablet sensation is faster, lighter, and slimmer, and features dual cameras for video chatting. The pricing remains the same as the first generation models, which means an entry-level 16GB WiFi-only iPad will cost $499.
I have the first gen model, and am not planning on rushing out to get the iPad 2. I figured something like this was coming — after all, Apple ALWAYS upgrades stuff within a year — but didn’t want to wait that long to get my hands on a tablet. I’m perfectly happy with what my iPad 1 does, and would never use face chat anyway. Sure, I’d appreciate the extra speed from the dual processors, but I guess I’ll just have to muddle along without them!
