The Chronic Consumer

I am not much of a fan of Nicholas Sparks books, and think that the movie adaptations are even worse. But one exception is Nights in Rodanthe. I thought this was a very good and actually believable love story, unlike the everlasting-love-at-first-sight crap that Sparks usually deals with. It’s about a divorced woman who operates one of those Outer Banks rentals for her friend one weekend, and meets a similarly divorced man who is the lone guest. The two strike up a friendship first, get to know each other, and then have a short-lived affair before he goes to South America to repair his relationship with his son.

I won’t get into the ending, but it’s a good one. This DVD is now officially on my Wish List!
