Secret Cherry Mischief Deodorant

OK, can I just tell you that I love this Cherry Mischief deodorant from Secret?? I’ve been using Secret ever since they came out with their clear gel stuff because I absolutely hate white, flaky deodorants. And Secret generally works pretty well, while coming in a nice enough variety of scents.

But prior to trying Cherry Mischief about a year ago, I’d never come across a particular scent that I really loved. I would just grab whatever was on the shelf and be on my merry way.

I’m useless at describing scents, so I can’t explain what Cherry Mischief smells like. Yes, there’s definitely a hint of cherry in there, but it’s not overpowering or anything. It’s just a wonderful smell that is great after a shower. I think I’m addicted to this stuff!

Paris Hilton’s Sunglasses

Chalk this up to one of those Internet searches that starts out by being about one thing and ends up leading to a bunch of information about an entirely different topic. Today I was checking for car insurance reviews in the hopes of finding a cheaper alternative to my current policy, but I ended up reading about Paris Hilton’s sunglasses. How could this possibly happen? Maybe because the article states that her sunglasses “cost as much as a BMW“. Apparently, the car name in the title of the post was enough to include it in my search results.

Anyway, about these sunglasses… They’re called Luxuriator (fitting name) and cost a whopping $65,000!!! I usually don’t care what celebs spend on stuff, because honestly, $65k to Paris Hilton is equivalent to $65 (or even $6.50) for most people, so as a percentage of her income/net worth, that’s nothing. But in the grand scheme of things, you have to admit that paying $65,000 for a pair of sunglasses is just outrageous!!! Thinks of all the people that could be fed for that amount. Wow.

Diamond Mario

One thing I like about working out on the weekends is that I can bring my husband’s iPhone with me and browse the net or check email while walking along on the treadmill. That’s precisely what I did this morning — and almost suffered an injury in the process! That’s because I came across the diamond-coated Mario pendant pictured to the right, a little piece of bling that costs $2600!! Now, I love Mario games as much as the next person, but I cannot imagine paying that much for a pendant of the character! For those of you that really want it, it’s on eBay….

Celebrating with Cigars

One of my husband’s co-workers just celebrated the birth of his first child yesterday, so he brought in a box of nice romeo y julieta cigars to pass out to everyone. We don’t smoke at all, but for some reason decided to light up the cigar last night. Wow, was it strong!!! But very smooth — and a heck of a lot better than the stuff I used to smoke with my buddies back in high school! I became lightheaded after just a few puffs though, so had to stop relatively quickly. Even so, I could definitely see why others like this brand so much.

Outdoor Furniture

Now that spring is almost here, I can’t wait to be able to go outdoors again! I absolutely hate the cold weather, so I pretty much become a recluse from November to April, venturing out only when necessary. But as soon as the weather breaks, I try to spend as much time as possible out in the yard or on the deck.

We need new deck furniture this year, so I’m already shopping around. I thought it would be cool to ditch the plastic resin stuff and go for some log furniture instead. I saw this very cute log rocker while browsing some different sites this morning. I can totally picture myself relaxing in this thing with my Kindle in one hand and a glass of lemonade in the other. I want it!

Mickey on my mind

We took our son to Disney World for the first time when he was four years old, and he absolutely loved it! We rode all the rides, stood in line to take a picture with Mickey, and just had a wonderful time in Florida. We haven’t actually been able to take a decent family trip since then, but we definitely deserve a break and want to head back to Orlando. That’s why I’ve been keeping an eye on the price of Disney vacations recently to make sure I’m aware of any good deals that come up. So far I haven’t come across anything in our budget range, but I’m not giving up yet. Hopefully we’ll be able to take our trip sometime before summer vacation is over!

Free Water Bottle

I love getting freebies, but often don’t bother signing up for stuff because most of the time I don’t even end up using what I get. But Marlboro recently gave away custom water bottles with their logo on it just for filling out a form on their website, and I decided to take advantage because I can always use a new water bottle.

I was too lazy to take a picture of mine, so I found an approximation of the water bottle and included the image in this post. It’s very cool because of the lid that unscrews and the carabiner keyring. The bottle is made of aluminum too, so I expect it to last a good long time.

I threw it in the dishwasher tonight and will use it for tomorrow’s workout!

Nights in Rodanthe DVD

I am not much of a fan of Nicholas Sparks books, and think that the movie adaptations are even worse. But one exception is Nights in Rodanthe. I thought this was a very good and actually believable love story, unlike the everlasting-love-at-first-sight crap that Sparks usually deals with. It’s about a divorced woman who operates one of those Outer Banks rentals for her friend one weekend, and meets a similarly divorced man who is the lone guest. The two strike up a friendship first, get to know each other, and then have a short-lived affair before he goes to South America to repair his relationship with his son.

I won’t get into the ending, but it’s a good one. This DVD is now officially on my Wish List!
