iPod games have been around for a long time, but I never bothered purchasing anything before. Heck, I don’t even play the free games that are included with the device and don’t use any features beyond the music player anyway. But I love trivia games, and when I saw that an iPod version of Trivial Pursuit was available, I decided to check it out.
This Trivial Pursuit game is made by EA Mobile, so I figured it would be pretty good — and as far as gameplay goes, it is. The controls work very well, the questions are tough but not impossible, and the AI makes for a challenging opponent most of the time. The game is neither more nor less than what I expected. It’s fun keeps me occupied for a few minutes when I’m bored, and that’s that.
The only real problem I have with the game is the price. It cost $4.99 at the iTunes Store, which is pretty high considering the kind of game it is. Obviously I didn’t let the price stop me from buying it, but it feel more like a $2 game than a $5 game.
Still, I’d recommend it to trivia fans. There are far worse games out there, that’s for sure!
