I just got an email from Chase Bank saying that if I open a new bank account with them and set it up to receive direct deposits, then I’ll get an extra $125 as a reward. The offer is good until July 15, and the only thing the fine print says is that the account has to be opened with at least $100 of “new money”, which I guess means no transferred from another Chase account.

I received this email because I have a Chase credit card, and there’s a very long coupon code that I’m supposed to use if I want to follow up on the offer. So I don’t know if this is available to everybody, but it might be worth asking about if you’re looking to open a new checking account anyway.
