New Scale
January 10th, 2009 by Chronic Consumer
My old digital scale finally gave out today. I tried changing the batteries and everything, but it wouldn’t turn back on, so I think it’s time to get a new one. The old one lasted almost 10 years, which is pretty good. I don’t mind retiring it at this point. Plus, I was having trouble with it way back in May, but it still managed to hold on for 8 months longer!
Anyway, I want a scale that can monitor body fat, like the one above. For the past year, I’ve been consciously trying to reduce the amount of fat I eat, and as a result, my body fat percentage has dropped by about 3%. That’s not an earth-shattering number by any means, but it’s something.
Since my old scale didn’t have the capability to measure body fat, I could only check my numbers when I went to the gym. I want to be able to monitor at home as well, so I know when to take diet pills, lay off the dessert, etc. I think if I can see my body fat percentage every day, it’ll motivate me to stick to my diet.
The scale pictured above is about $60, which isn’t too bad. I’m probably going to buy it next Friday when I get paid.
