Personalized Photo Books
November 2nd, 2007 by Chronic Consumer
I’m very late to the Flickr party, having just opened an account over there a couple months ago when Yahoo Photos closed down. In the past few days, I’ve been poking around my Flickr account to see what I can do with it. One of the things I checked out was the “Do More” option, which gives you a list of various products you can buy with your photos plastered on them.
Besides the usual mugs, calendars, mouse pads, and tote bags, I saw a link for something called BookSmart. BookSmart allows you to self-publish your photos in high-quality books that you can then use as keepsakes or give out to friends and family as gifts. There’s some software you have to download, and then it’s a matter of organizing the photos you want to include, adding text, and arranging everything just the way you like it.
I think this is a wonderful idea, and I really want to put a photo book together for my mom as a Mother’s Day gift. I still have to do some research as to the quality of the final product and all that, but from what I’ve seen online these books actually turn out reasonably well. The price is pretty good also, so that’s not going to be an issue here.
Now I’ve just got to start sorting through my photos to find some good ones of my son that I can include in the book. I can’t wait!
