The Chronic Consumer

Like most college graduates, I always buy a couple of new products identifying me as an alumni of my particular school each year. In fact, I look forward to checking out my school’s online bookstore to see what kind of new gear they have for me to buy. This year I’ve already purchased a t-shirt, a pen set, and a windbreaker, and will probably order even more stuff when the items go on sale for Christmas.

Unfortunately, I went to a very small school, so there usually isn’t a great selection in the way of alumni gear. Now if I had gone to a huge school, like Penn State, there would obviously be hundreds of items to choose from. For example, after I saw the Penn State football team win their season opener by a score of 59-0 today, I went online to check out some PSU merchandise. They have everything from t-shirts to neckties to blazers available in lots of different designs. I even found a site that sells cool Penn State photos ranging from specific athletic events to general campus shots.

I wish my school had something like that!
