Sloppy Joe’s T-Shirts
May 14th, 2007 by Chronic Consumer
My husband and I traveled to Key West about 10 years ago. Being the Ernest Hemingway fan that I am, I insisted on stopping by Sloppy Joe’s Bar, one of the writer’s favorite hangouts. After grabbing a beer and a bite to eat, I headed straight to the gift shop where I proceeded to buy a couple of t-shirts featuring the bar name and Hemingway’s likeness.
I loved those t-shirts and wore them all the time. They gave out a long time ago, and I really want replacements, but obviously don’t want to travel all the way to Key West to get them.
That’s why I’m glad Sloppy Joe’s has a webstore where you can purchase souvenirs without ever leaving your home.
I think this is a great trend among top tourist destinations because it allows former visitors to replace their favorite souvenirs without actually having to make the trip again. I wouldn’t recommend doing this kind of shopping instead of going to the real locations in the first place, but if you’ve already been there, then why not?
I’m off to order a Sloppy Joe’s tee right now!
